Fishing

The fishing season on the rivers ends on the 14th March  - and new licenses won't be issued until 16th June

Geocaching

Travel on the Bure Valley Railway Line and take a walk back, Geocaching on the way

We are reliably informed that there are some interesting cashes on the footpath by this single gauge railway  - so it's a perfect excuse to stretch your legs  - you can walk between stations and catch the steam train back

The full distance between Wroxham and Aylsham is 10 miles, but we estimate Wroxham to Coltishall is a maximum of 3 miles

Mooring Barnes Brinkcraft  15 min walk to Wroxham Bure Valley Station (and to avoid walking on the main road walk underneath the mainline railway station and through the huge car park) Then you can choose how far you walk/take the train.

From Mooring in Wroxham

Hoveton Hall Gardens

Beautiful gardens, with really beautiful "spiders, gate" into the walled garden.  And don't forget the cafe  - Locals would like to keep it as a top-secret destination  - the food is several levels above your usual cafe food

20-minute walk  - or 5 mins by car

Wroxham Barns

There are all sorts of things going on here,  Shops selling local produce, gifts, clothes crafts & plants, a great restaurant and cafe.  Don't forget feeding time at the Junior Farm plus and the Mini Golf & Fairpark rides

Moorings Coltishall Green   - and the SUP boarding is from the Pub at the end of the green

Mooring at Salhouse Broad

Mooring in Horning

RAF Air Defence Radar Museum

This is one of those places you find by accident and suddenly find you've spent the afternoon there

Mooring Horning Staith  - 20 min walk along quiet roads.  Loads of parking if you travel by car

Bewilderwood

If you have pre-teen kids with you  - use them as an excuse to visit.   We can't recommend this highly enough.  It is, however, an all-day trip (and a little pricy - but we think, worth it)   In essence its a series of huge (and we mean huge) adventure playgrounds built into tree houses,   but packaged together to make some much more than that,  and don't forget the crafts, den making and storytelling sessions that make it a really wonderful day out

Mooring Horning Staith  - 20 min walk (mostly on footpaths)   - Loads of car parking

Moorings & Cockshoot Broad  (Far side of the river and the far end of
