New Cancellation Policy

Update 23/3  – Following last nights Govt guideline changes we will be closed until the end of April click here for more details

During this unprecedented situation, things are changing in ways we can’t expect

And whilst we all look forward to our holidays, we are aware our customers may need to make last-minute alterations to their plans.

To enable this, we have bought in a no quibble policy that will help you do just that (details below)

The Norfolk Broads offer an opportunity to escape from the stresses of everyday life. We believe the Broads National Park offers a great opportunity to do just that.

Pack your car up with the supplies you need for your time away. Board your boat, or enter your holiday home and you’re in your own space. With everything on hand to help you enjoy the space and tranquillity of the Broads National Park

For extra peace of mind, we’ve added to our robust cleaning programme. We’ve introduced a new disinfectant that gives an extra measure of confidence. We’ve also asked our staff to follow the government’s guidelines, and self isolate if they develop a cough or temperature

We do hope that this offers you some reassurance

Our Cancellation Policy

To give you extra peace of mind during this period of uncertainty, you can cancel your holiday. To do this the holiday must start before the 16th of June and you need to give us 3 days (72 hours notice)
You can either change the start date of your holiday or receive a credit. You can use the credit on any future holiday taken before the end of our 2021 season
We will enable you to cancel any holiday departing on or before 16th June 2020, up to 72 hours before departure.
Please note this policy only applies for bookings taken from the 13th March 2020.  Our standard cancellation policy applies to previous bookings.
We hope this means you’ll continue to book with Barnes Brinkcraft with confidence.
This includes Boating and Cottage holidays, starting on or before the 16th June 2020
Please call us to make this amend to your booking at least 3 days (72 hours) before you are due at the boatyard. We are unable to process this via our website.
Our office may be extra busy during this period so please be patient
If you wish to cancel your booking before your balance is due, we will keep your deposit for use against a future booking.
Please let us know a full 72 hours before 2 pm on your day of departure so we have time to process your cancellation and prepare.
After this time, if you are unable to travel for the following reasons you can still cancel for a booking credit
Your Government’s Foreign Office advises against ‘all‘ or ‘all but essential travel.
  • There is a border closure or localised lockdown which prevents me from leaving or getting to the boatyard.
  • Your flight stops in an affected area that is deemed unsafe and is cancelled.
  • You, or a member of your party, contract a confirmed case of Coronavirus.
  • You are advised or instructed to self-quarantine, or put into quarantine by the authorities
We will, of course, continue to monitor developments and update our policies if and when necessary.
If none of the above circumstances applies, then you can proceed with your holiday as planned. If you should decide to change or cancel your booking in this instance, our standard booking terms and conditions will apply. We advise you to check your travel insurance policy to see if you are covered.
As things stand there are a few reported cases of coronavirus in Norfolk. We will follow the news and Government advice and act accordingly should the situation change
At a time where we want to stay away from the crowds and escape from it all. A boat or a holiday cottage on the Norfolk Broads is a great option.
